A day in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday we spent the day with some great people in Washington D.C. walking. But first we met at the Metro and rode the “choo choo train”.
And the boys got to know each other.
Then we walked and walked and walked…
and saw some old bones…
and some weird old bones…
and some beautiful jewelery.
Then it was time for some lunch…
and an attempt at some caffeine by one of the 2 year olds…
and sharing secrets.
Then an attempt to keep the 2 year old restrained…
but a shark attacked.
So we headed back outside to search for some bugs and look at castles…
and bird chasing…
and head drumming.
Then it was time for more walking…
and waiting by the ones with long legs…
we crossed many a busy D.C. street. (Can someone tell me why it’s shorter to cross the bigger busier streets then it is to cross the smaller less busy streets? By 40 seconds!)
Anton enjoyed the girls, he’s a total ladies man!
We moved on to looking at airplanes and rocket ships…
(Spaceshipone: http://www.richard-seaman.com/Aircraft/AirShows/SpaceShipOne2004/ )
and I guess by this time Abby had had enough and went crazy…
but tried not to get sucked into a very large engine…
I love the shadow work on this one…
more planes…
and planes to walk into…over and over and over again…
and meeting up with some more friends!… Have you seen Abby?
the Predator Drone… ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MQ-1_Predator )
sorry EJ we got to hang with Ev…
and the 2 year olds finally took naps…
and we finally! let Abby ride the Merry Go Round, after two spins she was ready to get off…
Then we walked and walked and walked and Abby made a new friend, Ray, because she’s like that…
and the Prez flew by. (We know because there were two identical helicopters and snipers on top of the Natural History Museum. It’s good to have an Army guy in the crowd.)
Then we walked and walked and walked… and took pictures of the Washington Monument…
and walked and walked and passed by the White House…
and walked and walked to the WWII Memorial…
“My God it’s full of stars.” (Anyone?)
Then Alex decided she wanted to be a baby again… (That’s one sexy Momma!)
and Anton communed with the ducks in the Reflecting Pool…
and we walked and walked to the Lincoln Memorial…
and I think we were all done by this point. This is the last picture taken by us that day.
It was a great day with great people that ended with burgers and fries and spaghetti.
