Parent/Teacher Conference

February 27, 2009 at 4:39 pm | Posted in Children | Comments Off on Parent/Teacher Conference

We had a P/T meeting with Abby’s teacher on Thursday. Again I got a lot of “She’s doing great!” and “I have to remind myself how young she is because of her height and her grasp of concepts.”  Which is all great, however I want to know what I’m suppose to do with her next year because I don’t think she will do great without some sort of preschool interaction.  By the time I got the word that she may not qualify for the program next year the schools (good one’s anyway) were in their enrollment and/or full.  Well it turns out that Abby will more then likely be in the program next year! I’m very happy about that.  What they don’t know is if Abby will be in the summer program or not.  This doesn’t bother me as much.  I think Abby will do fine if she doesn’t go this summer.

Photo’s of the week

Not a very exciting week.  I missed a few boring days.  The one exciting thing I did this week I couldn’t take my camera to.

Sunday: Enjoying a speghetti dinner and movie at Uncle Charles’ church.

It’s Cthulhu himself.

Monday: Daddy was off of work, so we got to spend an extra day with him.

Wednesday: This is the one and only picture taken.

As most (or all) of you know my husband is a big nerd.  This is his WarMachine play table that he is currently sprucing up.

Thursday: WARNING!

Now you can’t say I didn’t warn you.  Dried boogers and all.

Friday: This is what I get for having kids.  Darn kids bringing their sick germs home.

Saturday: We went to a Jonathan Coulton show and had the best time; he’s a great performer.

Since photographic equipment was not allowed, here is a YouTube video of my favorite song;

because I happen to be married to a Code Monkey.

Quote of the day

My husband walks up to me tonight and says:

“You know dear, I don’t think I give you enough credit for appearing mostly sane at the end of the day.”

*insert maniacal laughing here*

Then he says:

“That was really creepy.”

Photo’s of the week

I’ve decided I want to have a day where I post pictures.  So, every Sunday I will post pictures from the previous week.  One picture for everyday that I take pictures.  My goal is to have 7 pictures.  I only have 5 this week.

Such a nice day let’s go for a walk!

EJ

My baby is going to be 12 at 2:09am tomorrow.  How did that happen?  One second he’s being born and the next he’s reading 500 page books, playing trumpet in two bands at school, and bringing home A’s and B’s on his report card.  By this summer he will be as tall as me; this totally boggles my mind.  I’m not sure I’m prepared for this.

10 on 10

I feel so honored to finally be able to introduce you to Melissa.  I have borrowed an idea from her (one that she also borrowed) called 10 on 10.  The idea is to take a photo once an hour for 10 consecutive hours on the 10th of every month as a fun way to document a day in your life.

Well I kind of messed up my first one.  I left the camera in the car this morning so I missed a few hours, however I think I will still have 10 pictures.  What can I say, I hardly ever play by the rules.

My breakfast.

Anton’s not happy because I put him in his car seat.

This is when I left the camera in the car.  This picture shows the outfit Abby came home from school in.

Those are not the pants she was wearing this morning.

I am so thankful each and everyday that Anton takes a nap.  Abby stopped taking naps at 21 months.

Being read to

February 5, 2009 at 8:39 pm | Posted in Children | Comments Off on Being read to

What is it about my husbands voice that puts me to sleep when he is reading bedtime stories to the kids?

Every night I have to resist lying down while Anton sits on Daddy’s lap and Abby sits next to him.  If I don’t, soon after I am breathing steadily or lightly snoring.  This is without fail.  Even when I don’t feel tired, I would still fall asleep.

For that reason I must not lie down which would cause me to stagger about while attempting to get Anton into his bed.  Which can be quite comical since we have a gate up in the door way to his room.

“Passing out from not sleeping”

My recent blog about Anton’s tantrum-turn-nap on the kitchen floor made me remember all the times that my children have passed out in unusual circumstances or places. Here are a few pictures:
